BSAC Lanzarote offers both the BSAC Nitrox Gas Blender and the BSAC Mixed Gas Blender Courses and they can be completed seperately or combined.

Who Can Take These Workshops?

Any qualified BSAC Diver from Ocean Diver upwards can take these courses and they're a great way to become more involved with your club and gas mixing.

Divers with a Nitrox gas blending qualification from another dive agency may also be eligible to complete the Mixed Gas Blender qualification.

What Will I Learn?

You'll learn all the theory to enable you to safely blend Nitrox gas mixes and mixed gas mixes.

You will learn:

- mimimum equipment required to blend nitrox - mimimum equipment required to blend mixed gases
- how to calculate the desired nitrox mix - how to calculate the desired mixed gas mix
- safety precautions: the safe use of oxygen - safety precautions: the safe use of oxygen and other gases
- nitrox gas blending - mixed gas blending
- practical blending of nitrox mixes - practical blending of mixed gases

What Will I be Able to Do?

As a qualified Ocean Nitrox Diver you will be able to safely plan and execute open water dives within your current qualification, using Nitrox mixes of 32% or 36%. You will also be able to apply to BSAC HQ for a qualification card that will enable you to buy Nitrox mixes of 32% and 36%.

As a qualified Sports Nitrox Diver you will be able to safely plan and execute open water dives within your current qualifcation, using Nitrox mixes upto 36% on a decompression dive. You will also be able to apply to BSAC HQ for a qualification card that will enable you to buy Nitrox fills upto 36%.

As a qualified BSAC Mixed Gas BLender your next steps could be to progress your diver grade level, make the move into technical diving and learn how to dive on the mixed gases you have just leant to blend on Technical Courses such as the BSAC Sports Mixed Gas Diver Course or maybe a rebreather CCR Try Dive or the Sports Mixed Gas CCR Diver Course.
