This is the just the start of your technical diving journey. Building on what you have learnt you'll now learn how to safely plan and dive using Trimix.

Here in Lanzarote we have the ideal locations for technical diving.
Shallows ideal for learning and practicing skills, sending up SMBs and completing planned decompression stops.
Easy entry and exit points to the dive sites, always useful when diving with additional kit.
Plenty of easy access dive sites in the 30-50m range that are ideal for the course such as the Blue Hole pinnicles!

Who Can Take This Course?

The Sport Mixed Gas Diver Course is aimed at the experienced ADP (Accelerated Decompression Procedures) diver who has logged a good few dives at this certification level and is now proficient diving at this level. You'll have logged some deeper depths in a twinset and now feel comfortable with the equipment, the skills and diving at those depths. In other words you feel ready to take your diving to the next level.

Course Requirements

Enrolment requirements and course content

Minimum 18 years old
ADP (Accelerated Decompression Procedures) diver or equivalent with BSAC or another dive agency
60 logged dives minimum with a minimum of 10 logged dives between 30-35m
6 Theory sessions
1 Theory assessment
1 Dry session
2 Sheltered water training
2 Open water dives

What Will I Learn?

You'll learn to dive on a twinset with a single stage cylinder, with Trimix and of course you'll learn the theory behind it all too.

You will learn:

- theory of mixed gas diving

- advanced diving physiology

- dive planning including gas choices, decompression obligations, gas redundancy and run times

- equipment configuration and set up

- practical diving techniques, including diving with 1 stage cylinder


Your diving adventure has only just begun!

What Will I be Able to Do?

As a qualified Sports Mixed Diver you can now dive buddied up with another Sports Mixed Diver, or equivalent or higher. You can plan and conduct open-circuit dives using trimix that contains a minimum of 20% Oxygen and a maximum of 30% Helium to a maximum depth of 50m.

What Are The Next Steps?

After your course is completed you can come diving with us, gain some experince and see some of the deeper dive sites that this course opens up to you such as The Shrimp Cave. Other training options include the Explorer Mixed Gas (60m) course or why not take a CCR try dive or course with us on one of the AP Inspirations!
