BSAC Lanzarote is a great diver training centre and location to continue your diver training to Sports Diver level. The Sports Diver Course is perhaps one of the most rewarding and exhilarating courses that you will take. Building on your Ocean Diver course and experience, it will enable you to safely explore deeper recreational dive sites and safely extend your bottom times. For many this is the course that really opens up the wonders of the underwater world.

Safe diving is at the heart of BSAC and BSAC Lanzarote and the Sports Diver course is far more than just a diver course to maximum depth of 35m. You will have theory sessions that compliment the practical sessions.
You'll learn important lifesaving rescue skills and techniques that will make you a safer diver and a better dive buddy whist having lots of fun.
The more you put into this course, the more you will get out of it!
- how to safely dive deeper for longer on recreational dives
- how to recognize if something is wrong and what to do
- diver self-rescue techniques
- diver rescue skills such as recovery of an unresponsive diver
- basic life support
- SMB and DSMB use and deployment
- basic compass navigation
As a qualified Sports Diver you can dive buddied up with another Sports Diver in familiar locations and conditions to those in which you trained giving you more opportunity to explore and build up even more experience.
You can also buddy up with an Ocean Diver on dives that are within conditions they have already encountered.
To expand your own experience you can dive with a Dive Leader or above, under the supervision of a Dive Manager. You can also assist the Dive Manager as a competent assistant to organise your club diving.
Options include taking one of the many Skill Development Courses, SDCs, on offer such as the Buoyancy and Trim Workshop or the Twin-set Diver course and then onto Sports Mixed Gas Diver and Closed Circuit Rebreather Diver.
You never know it might lead onto your BSAC Dive Leader course and helping to plan and orgainse your club diving or be the start of your journey to becoming a BSAC Instructor.
